Screening for Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS)
by Michael Jubinville, MPH
Screening is done to find a health problem early and treat it. Tests are given to people who do not have symptoms but who may be at high risk for the health problem.
Screening Guidelines and Tests
There are no screening tests for MDS at this time. Regular blood tests may be done for people who are at high risk of MDS. This includes people with genetic risks or those who have had cancer treatment.
