Other Treatments for Prostate Cancer
Condition InDepth
Active Surveillance
Some prostate cancers grow very slowly. They rarely cause problems or become serious. The pain, stress, and harms of treatment may outweigh the benefits of treating such a slow-growing cancer. It is not clear which type of prostate cancer grows at what rate. Once it is found the doctor will do tests regularly to see if the cancer is growing.
