Screening for Preterm Labor and Delivery

Screening is done to find a problem and treat it early. Tests are given to people who do not have symptoms, but who may be at high risk.

An ultrasound may be done to measure a pregnant person's cervix. A cervix that is too short may raise the risk of preterm delivery.
